Poland Raises Millions at Charity Drive

Over 40 million zloty (roughly 9 million euro) was raised as part of the annual Wielka Orkiestra Swiatecznej Pomocy (WOSP) - the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. It's Poland's largest fundraising drive of the year, and is now in its 20th edition.

Thousands of volunteers joined the efforts in collecting donations on the streets in exchange for the drive's trademark red heart sticker. Celebrities also got involved donating both personal items as well as their time - cities across Poland including Poznan hosted large outdoor concerts. In Poznan, the main WOSP concerts took place on January 8 in front of the Zamek cultural centre.

This year, the charity drive was raising money for hospital equipment.
