Art and Music at KontenerArt

An interesting summertime addition to Poznan's cityscape this year is KontenerArt, an initiative by a community of independent artists in the city. Located on the sandy shores of the Warta river, KontenerArt is essentially a series of temporary structures dropped here for the season. These prefab glass-panelled containers will host a variety of artistic events from exhibitions to concerts to interactive workshops covering eco-friendly approaches to art and design.

KontenerArt will also host the Korzenie Rytmu ("Roots of Rhythm") festival this year, with performances by percussionists from across the world as well as workshops for both young and old. The festival kicks off on 10 June and closes on 16 June with a performance by Lanaye Burkina Faso Sound System.

KontenerArt is also a great place to stop and relax in the evening. Find it on the left bank of the Warta river, just a few minutes east of Poznan's Old Town.
