Poznan Team Wins Football League!

Lech Poznan has trounced all opponents to win the 2010 Polish Ekstraklasa League.

The decisive match was won against Zaglebie Lubin 2-0 on May 15, marking the team's first triumph in the competition in 17 years.

It was a tight finish to the tournament, as Wisla Krakow, playing the same day, were still in with a chance of victory. But the Cracovians failed to make headway, drawing with Odra Wodzislaw, as Poznan put away to crucial goals against Lubin.

The Poznan lads are over the moon, and they' ve now earnt their place in the European Champions League. Proud as he is, coach Jacek Zielinski says there's plenty of work needed to prepare for the international tournament.
