Warsaw (Puls Biznesu) – The fifth tender to sell the bankrupt meat producer, Pozmeat, has failed. A Danish company failed to submit its offer due to bird flu.

The Pozmeat plant near Poznan is evaluated at PLN 80m (EUR 20.5m). However the Danish poultry producer, according to unofficial sources – Rose Poultry – has not submitted its offer.

“In the deadline of March 20, no buy-offer has been submitted. It is due to the bird flu”, Jan Kanecki, Pozmeat bankruptcy officer explained.

He added that banks, including Danish ones, are not eager to give credits to poultry companies fearing the risk connected with negative effects of the sickness. The Danish media informed in January that due to bird flu, the country’s biggest poultry producers, including Rose Poultry, were cutting production. Another tender will be announced in April.
