If compared to royal castles in Krakow or Warsaw, Poznan's castle might develop an inferiority complex. This is because the castle, dating back from 1249, was mostly destroyed in the Second World War, and only partially rebuilt. The main attraction of Poznan's Royal Castle is the Museum of Applied Arts located inside of its main building. However, the castle grounds themselves feature a small park with a view that's well worth checking out when the weather is nice.
